Our Nursery Manager Jaime has developed my early years career over the last 15 years. She started off as an unqualified member of staff and progressed to a Senior Nursery Manager, supporting multiple sites whilst managing the nursery I was based in. She also has acquired a degree, BA Hons, in Early Years Practice. Throughout her years in Early Years she’s developed a huge passion for the sector. While managing our nursery alongside our Deputy Hayley, she ensures every child, parent and staff member have the best experience each and every time they come through the doors of the nursery. Jamie states – “What motivates me is seeing the impact that I have on the children, their families and the staff that I manage and mentor.”
We will guide you through every step of your childcare journey and help you discover everything you need to know about our nursery. Come and join our family across the UK. Alternatively, you can complete our online enquiry form also located below and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
We looked at quite a few nurseries in both the city centre and in South Liverpool, but I knew before finishing my viewing for Holyrood, Princess Dock that my little boy would be going there. It offers something a bit different to the other places we had seen. The resources are beautiful and encourage creativity and curiosity for early years learning. Also, the group spaces are super spacious with lots of room and a light feel. Staff here are lovely and it’s really refreshing to see a diverse, representative workforce which includes quite a few male staff members. My little boy loves it there.
Can’t say enough how great this nursery and staff are. My daughter struggled with shyness after this year of being anti socialised due to Covid. Since she started a month ago, the difference in her confidence is amazing and lovely to see. She has developed so much in such a short amount of time. The staff are always so warm and friendly and it’s nice to feel completely at ease leaving her with them all.
What a nursery. My boy has been there for just over a year and I couldn’t be happier with his progress. He is happy to go in everyday, he’s always smiling when I collect him. The staff have been wonderful from day one. The explorers’ room he is in now is where his key worker helps him to shine. I also love that they have male nursery staff, I believe it’s important for children to have different role models to look up to.
We love to get outside at Holyrood, Princess Dock! Each of our 4 rooms has its own separate inviting outside space, all appropriately set up for their age groups. All of our outdoor areas provide children with opportunities to get fresh air and have fun in a safe and secure environment.
The children love playing in our gardens which offer a variety of activities including mud kitchens, water play, outdoor classrooms and many more resources to promote safe and fun outdoor play. As well as access to our fabulous outdoor play areas, children of all ages enjoy regular walks in the local area. Our youngest children are often seen out in our double buggies enjoying the fresh air, sights and sounds of the local community. We use high visibility vests to keep children safe when out on trips away from the nursery. We believe there is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing – so we ask parents to provide their children with appropriate clothing for all types of weather.
We are committed to being an environmentally friendly nursery, making changes wherever we can in order to make the world a cleaner place! We are a registered ECO-Nursery and are committed to teach our children about their environment and the effect we have on it in our day to day lives.
Our curriculum includes a Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage that offer hands-on approaches to encourage the skills your child will need in the nursery and beyond:

Our nurseries provide an extensive range of resources to encourage children to learn through play.  We favour naturalistic learning resources and make fantastic use of our outdoor equipment, promoting free-flow and child-led learning.
Taking part in fundraising activities helps children to learn about others that are less fortunate than themselves and to understand how we can help them.  Fundraising events are good fun and are a great way to bring children, families and communities together.  Some of the fundraisers we have taken part in are: sponsored toddles, superhero days, baking cakes to sell and garden parties. Read about our Red Nose Day 2022 events here.
We celebrate the big move to primary school with a special graduation ceremony each year – caps, gowns, the works!
We encourage Heuristic Play with our 1–2-year-olds, embracing every child’s natural curiosity.  This involves offering children a range of different objects and receptacles with which they are encouraged to play freely without adult instruction.
We make use of our wonderful outdoor spaces and forest areas by encouraging children at our nurseries and Out of School Care clubs to plant, grow and tend to fruit, vegetables, flowers and herbs throughout the year.
Our nurseries offer free settling-in sessions.  Parents can bring their child for a couple of hours first, gradually introducing the child to a new environment.  Settling-in sessions are aimed at helping your child to adapt to their new surroundings and become more familiar with the staff and other children.
Our E-Learning journals and Parent Zone app allow you to see your child’s activities at nursery with the click of a button.  Staff upload images and notes about your child’s participation in activities at nursery for you to access wherever you are.  Our nursery tablets offer exciting and stimulating learning experiences tailored to challenge and engage little ones.
Daily Mile is physical activity and health and well-being in a social, outdoors context.  It is not active play, physical education or outdoor learning, although participating in The Daily Mile can encourage curiosity and interest in outdoor environments in keeping with wider outdoor learning opportunities.  The main goal is to increase daily activity.
