Your Local Knutsford Nursery in Mere

The Mere Nature Kindergarten has been a well-established and trusted nursery on one of the busiest commuter routes in Cheshire. It is perfectly located for parents living locally or travelling to or from Manchester via the A556 or to Warrington via the A50.

With a reputation for providing high-quality childcare, we feel when visiting you can feel our nursery exudes our ethos and focus on children first. Parent Reviews

Amy, Current Parent

My son loves it at The Mere. He waves goodbye to us and keeps on playing when we come to collect him. The food is all home-made and looks fabulous and the staff are so friendly.

Alan, Current Parent

They have a great size outdoor area which is used often. The staff look after the children as if they are their own, they are so caring. My son gives them lots of cuddles

Laura, Current Parent

My little boy loves the Mere nursery. He chats about what he’s done every day and has strong relationships with the staff who are all very caring. The building developments are great and the outdoor space is lovely.

Outdoors and Nature

We love to get outside at The Mere Nature Kindergarten!

We have a leafy private, secure large outdoor space with the use of the Cricket Pitch within the grounds, which is used for our daily mile. We offer forest school and playmakers, which is sports lessons, for toddlers to preschool at an additional charge but free for children that are full time with us.

As well as access to our fabulous outdoor play areas, children of all ages enjoy regular walks in the local area. We take children out in groups, come rain or shine, to take part in a variety of activities set up by our staff. Wherever possible we try to take our indoor learning outside. During our time outside we teach children how to assess risk, problem solve, share, gather and utilise from nature as we are committed to teach our children about their environment and the effect we have on it in our day to day lives.

We have been awarded the Green Flag award for Eco School and encourage our Eco Committee to grow fruit and veg in our allotment space, while making changes wherever we can to make the world a cleaner place too!

Our youngest children are often seen out in our buggies enjoying the fresh air, sights and sounds of the local community. We use high visibility vests to keep children safe when out on trips away from the nursery. We have a playground, bike track, large natural garden area and separate baby garden that is no mowed. All children leave wellington boots and waterproof clothing at nursery so they can be appropriately dressed for all seasons!
