Our Nursery Manager Gary has 13 years of experience working with children of all ages. “I have worked in various different roles, from a Nursery Practitioner through to Nursery Manager. I have a strong passion for ensuring all children receive the most outstanding opportunities each and every single day, setting up the best start in education. Throughout my career, I have trained as an Early Years Assessor/Tutor, delivering apprenticeships and supporting newly qualified staff members. This training and experience allows me to deliver the same passion for continual development within my team.” Debra and Chloe have upwards of 15 years experience between them in Early Years and they are passionate about building strong relationships with their parents and helping the little one’s in their care through fun, playful and exciting ways develop into incredible young people.
We can guide you through every step of your childcare journey and help you discover everything you need to know about our nursery.
I would highly recommend The Village Nursery. It has been wonderful to send my little boy there over the past couple of years. Will keep him there until he starts school and he has had an amazing level of care and attention throughout his time there.
Fantastic knowledge of my children, their needs and their routines. Great communication between nursery and home and they build on all of the interests that my girls have at home or any interests they show whilst at the nursery. Great activities like yoga and visits to the library.
Really happy with The Village – our 1-year-old absolutely loves it there and really looks forward to it each day. He’s developed so much since he started and is always learning new things. It’s done wonders for his confidence and he’s become so much more sociable. I’ve been really impressed by their commitment to education and learning and the way that it’s delivered in a way that’s fun and engaging for the kids. The staff are all so lovely and friendly and their genuine care for the kids shines through.
We love to get outside at Corner House Trafford Park! We have substantial gardens providing opportunities for outdoor learning across all areas of the curriculum. We also have our very own Hobbit House at the front of the building!
As well as access to our fabulous outdoor play areas, children of all ages enjoy regular walks in the local area. We take children out in groups, come rain or shine, to take part in a variety of activities set up by our staff. Wherever possible we try to take our indoor learning outside. We have physical activities with Mr Ross outside with our Preschool children too!
During our time outside we teach children how to assess risk, problem solve, share, gather and utilise from nature as we are committed to teach our children about their environment and the effect we have on it in our day to day lives.
We always make strides to be an environmentally friendly nursery, making changes wherever we can to make the world a cleaner place.
Our youngest children are often seen out in our buggies enjoying the fresh air, sights and sounds of the local community. We use high visibility vests to keep children safe when out on trips away from the nursery. All children leave wellington boots and waterproof clothing at nursery so they can be appropriately dressed for all seasons!
Our curriculum includes a Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage that offer hands-on approaches to encourage the skills your child will need in the nursery and beyond:
Birth to 5 Matters Learning and Development Framework

Playmakers is to help children get involved and active in group and singular physical activity or community play. By incorporating teamwork, developing skills, having fun and also bonding, we can have the most amount of fun while we get in our daily exercise and socialising too!
Taking part in fundraising activities helps children to learn about others that live differently, or are in disadvantaged situations and understand how we can help them. Fundraising events are good fun and a great way to bring children, families and communities together. Some of the fundraisers we have taken part in are: Children In Need, sponsored toddles, Macmillan coffee morning, superhero days and garden parties.
Our nurseries offer free settling in sessions. Parents can bring their child for a couple of hours first, gradually introducing the child to a new environment. Settling in sessions are aimed at helping your child to adapt and become more familiar with the staff and children, but also help you adapt to their surroundings and feel safe and secure when your little one joins us.
Our E-Learning Journals via the Tapestry app allow you to see your child’s activities at nursery with the click of a button. Your little one’s Keyworker will upload images and notes about your child’s development, any useful updates from their day and participation in activities at nursery for you to access wherever you are. Our nursery tablets offer exciting and stimulating learning experiences tailored to challenge and engage little ones.
As part of our curriculum we are committed to ensuring children are physically active for a minimum of 3 hours per day. Physical Development Champions at each nursery are passionate about physical development and create and design specific activities based around movement, raising the heartbeat and exercising the cardiovascular system.
Our nurseries provide an extensive range of resources to encourage children to learn through play. We favour naturalistic learning resources and make fantastic use of our outdoor equipment, promoting free-flow and Child-led learning.
