Our Nursery Manager Beci has several years of experience working with children of all ages. Beci manages her nursery and staff team alongside Sarah to ensure her nursery provides a secure family environment where children are encouraged to learn and grow into confident, creative and happy individuals.
We can guide you through every step of your childcare journey and help you discover everything you need to know about our nursery.
We love to get outside at Benison Nursery! We have substantial gardens providing opportunities for outdoor learning across all areas of the curriculum. We also have an equipped Forest School area in our outdoor space with lots of enriching experiences for children to explore! Over the past year we are delighted to have achieved the highest Level 5 School gardening Award from The Royal Horticultural Society!
As well as access to our fabulous outdoor play areas, children of all ages enjoy regular walks in the local area. We take children out in groups, come rain or shine, to take part in a variety of activities set up by our staff. Wherever possible we try to take our indoor learning outside. During our time outside we teach children how to assess risk, problem solve, share, gather and utilise from nature.
We use high visibility vests to keep children safe when out on trips away from the nursery. All children leave wellington boots and waterproof clothing at nursery so they can be appropriately dressed for all seasons!
We are committed to being an environmentally friendly nursery, making changes wherever we can in order to make the world a cleaner place. Over the past years the older children have formed an Eco School Committee where they discuss ways we can be more environmentally conscious and create a culture of sustainability via eco projects and recycling in fun ways. They have recently achieved their bronze accreditation. This helps to teach our children about their environment and the effect we have on it in our day to day lives.
Our curriculum includes a Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage that offer hands-on approaches to encourage the skills your child will need in the nursery and beyond:
Developing a broad based curriculum where children learn through play, work together, negotiate, learn about boundaries, take assessed risks and create simple rules. Building strong relationships with families and our community so our children are confident and proud of themselves, their family and home life while learning and developing.
Instilling a love of learning, self esteem and confidence where children are valued and heard as well as respect each other and the world they live in.
Ensuring children are physically active from birth and meet the Chief Medical Officers (2019) guidelines of a minimum of 3 hours per day
We always offer flexible booking patterns and a range of funding options, including 3-5 years old government’s funded childcare. To find out more information on pricing and availability, please request a call back and we will be in touch shortly.
Our fees include:
Our Cookery School offers the children regular opportunities to develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a kitchen environment, growing, caring for and harvesting crops as well as visits into their local community to purchase seasonal ingredients and explore food processes.
Our E-Learning Journals allow you to see your child’s activities at nursery with the click of a button. Your little one’s Keyworker will upload images and notes about your child’s development, any useful updates from their day and participation in activities at nursery for you to access wherever you are. Our nursery tablets offer exciting and stimulating learning experiences tailored to challenge and engage little ones.
Our nurseries provide an extensive range of resources to encourage children to learn through play. We favour naturalistic learning resources and make fantastic use of our outdoor equipment, promoting free-flow and Child-led learning.
Taking part in fundraising activities helps children to learn about others that live differently, or are in disadvantaged situations and understand how we can help them. Some of the fundraisers we have taken part in are: Children In Need, sponsored toddles, Macmillan coffee morning, superhero days and garden parties.
Our nurseries offer free Parents can bring their child for a couple of hours first, gradually introducing the child to a new environment. Settling in sessions are aimed at helping your child to adapt and become more familiar with the staff and children, but also help you adapt to their surroundings and feel safe and secure when your little one joins us.
As part of our curriculum we are committed to ensuring children are physically active for a minimum of 3 hours per day. Physical Development Champions at each nursery create and design specific activities based around movement, raising the heartbeat and exercising the cardiovascular system.
Here at Benison Nursery we have our very own qualified Nursery Chef, Claire, who creates nutritionally balanced 3 week rolling menus. This helps us encourage healthy eating among the children.
Our menus are designed to give your little one the very best start in life. We make this possible by supplying our children with home cooked nutritional food, bursting with fresh fruit and vegetables (some of which come from our garden!) and all the essential ingredients necessary for healthy physical and mental development. We source our food, when not from our garden, locally and organically including seasonal vegetables and fruit into our menus. Our children have a choice of milk or water to drink throughout the day.
We have also received a Platinum Eat Well Award and a 5-Star rating in food hygiene from Cheshire West and Chester Council This was in recognition for our children’s achievements in growing, caring for and harvesting produce in their nursery gardens and then using these to create their own meals in our Cookery School.
Our children have opportunities to excel as nursery gardeners with their very own vegetable patch! They enjoy harvesting and tasting the food they have grown during snack and meal times.
Our children have the fantastic opportunity to work with our Nursery Chef, Natalie, to take part in our cooking and baking activities provided in our cookery school! Our pre school children have the opportunity to explore and experience growing, harvesting, preparing, tasting and serving a wide variety of food. Chef Natalie gently scaffolds their learning so they feel they are achieving at every step and are motivated to keep trying.
