At Thrive, many people start their childcare careers by enrolling in our Modern Apprenticeship scheme.
Thrive relies on our Early Years Practitioners. In this role, you will be responsible for the general wellbeing of the children in our care.
Careers in childcare include managerial roles which are available as well as the opportunity to progress towards such roles. Many of our managers started with us as apprentices of practitioners.
Conservation is a huge part of our ethos. Teaching our children the importance (and joys) of protecting the planet is what a Conservation Champion does. A career in childcare involves so much more than what most people expect!
Office and administration roles are a vital part in the day to day running of our nurseries.
Thrive Childcare and Education prides ourselves on providing children with healthy, balanced, nutritional meals. We have plenty of roles on offer to help our children maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Trained experts are always needed for the general maintenance of our sites. A career in childcare can involve more than being a practitioner.

What I enjoy most about working for Thrive is the staff who are all welcoming and polite. The best part of the day is going into the room I enjoy the most, the Explorers room. I have achieved my Level 2, as well as confidence in my role. Staff are lovely to work with and the environment is lovely.
“I love my role as Nursery Manager within Thrive, I have worked in the company for 10 years and worked my way up from MA to Manager, throughout my time at Thrive I have been given so many amazing opportunities and been able to grow in my career throughout my time working here. No day is the same as I work with my fantastic team to fill our children’s buckets up of new knowledge, language and experiences that allows them to thrive. “I was very impressed with the information given during the whole Covid pandemic, the company kept us up to date and really thought about the staffs stress levels and anxiety throughout – they done everything right and it was very much appreciated. It made coming back after lockdown a lot easier.”
“My role is to support my colleagues to provide safe nurseries for children and a safe workplace for staff. I enjoy working for a company that takes safety seriously. I get to visit all our nurseries, and I love meeting all the teams and seeing the great work they do. I’m a firm believer you never stop learning and Thrive support me with training and development opportunities. As a graduate member of my professional body currently working towards chartership, this support is invaluable.”
“It’s a good environment to work in, supportive and staff are friendly and amazing to work with. Everyone has been really helpful with me doing my training, I feel like I learn everyday.”
“I have worked for Thrive for 3 years. I started as an apprentice and was hugely impressed with the level of support and training I received upon becoming a qualified practitioner. I was then promoted to Senior, again the support off the management team to help me reach this milestone was amazing. Recently again I was promoted to Third In Charge. I love how the company can offer different training courses and make time for these to be completed.
“I have been working within the nursery for almost 4 years now. When I first started at the nursery it needed a lot of attention. After Thrive took over, there was lots of great improvements put in place. The full building was refurbished and lots of new resources was bought for the children. Now the nursery is a much happier and positive place!”
“I started working at Thrive about a year and a half ago as a member of supply staff. A few months later, I was given the opportunity to start a Modern Apprentice as a mature student. It would have been incredibly difficult for me to find this opportunity in another company, so I am incredibly grateful for the way my managers believed in me and encouraged me! I always look forward to come to work which is something I feel very lucky to have.”
“I have only recently started my apprenticeship for thrive at Happitots Thornliebank. This job role has given me the opportunity to thrive and be the best I can be. I love my job and love working for thrive and working with the kids is the most rewarding thing. I am so grateful that thrive opted to give me the opportunity to carry out my apprenticeship. On top of this they have a great range of training opportunities. My induction was very thorough, I can’t thank Danielle enough for the things she does for her staff.”
I have started my journey in Thrive in September 2021 as a newly qualified Early years practitioner. I have received a lot of support from management and my colleagues and the opportunities for development are always available. I love working with children and I feel my days are extremely rewarding as I watch children thrive and reaching their milestones.
The team I work with in my room makes the day go smoothly. We have great teamwork and are always having a laugh and supporting each other. The bonds I have formed with the children and their parents. When activities are set up, when the children are having a good day and we are having fun with them. I have become a lot more confident and the staff are welcoming and positive.
I enjoy in my room with my team who are amazing. We have great friendships and work really well together. I love working with the children in my room and watching them develop their independence reads for pre-school. I have helped build our ream and create some structure in our room. I enjoy watching children learn and love that ‘lightbulb moment’.
